| What GBDI Can Do For You |
Since it was established in 1999, GBDI has conducted multidisciplinary training sessions about biodiversity, biotechnology and (related) law in five countries (Kenya, Botswana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon) of sub-Saharan Africa. Overall, nearly 500 scientists, lawyers, public officials and other professionals from 43 sub-Saharan countries in EAST AFRICA, WEST AFRICA and SOUTHERN AFRICA have received training in these sessions.
GBDI also uses its unique professional resources to provide consultations for public- and private-sector organizations that want to expand their presence in a promising market for bioresources -- or move into new markets.
Depending on your needs, GBDI's bioresource experts can help by:
- Supporting efforts to develop a practical, realistic strategic plan for realizing the < economic potential of resources in the bioscience sector.<
- Providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary training about bioresources and related intellectual property rights for leaders in the public- and private-sector.<
- Developing and strengthening the public/private sector partnerships that are vital to the success of any long-term strategic plan.<
- Developing relationships with other stakeholders whose support is vital.
